been. I generally can't be arsed writing long posts on a tiny keyboard
at eight in the morning, so this one's coming to you in the afternoon.
Seeing as it's been a while, I thought I'd tell you all about my new
band. After leaving Hometown Heroes almost a year ago now, I've ached
to be on stage performing again. My reasons for leaving the
aforementioned band are well know to all I care about, so I'm not
going to go into it here. Suffice to say, I wasn't happy with what I
was doing, and so beat the skins for them for the last time at last
years Selby Town Hall Battle of the Bands. I made myself look a fool
that night, and it's not a night I was proud of at all. In fact,
whenever I look back, it still makes me cringe. Poor musicianship,
poor stage performance. That night personified how I felt about the
band. I didn't care for the music, the image, the style or the
audience, and it showed.
Nevertheless, those days are behind me now, and it's time to look
forward. I was alone in my musical search. I dabbled (and still do
dabble) in electronic music, but it still can't recreate the thrill of
pounding drums in front of an appreciating audience.
Then along came Dale.
Dale was a good friend of mine already. He was the drummer in a band
called Recruitment 46, but conflict between band members forced him to
relook his position, and he left. It was almost fate, an attraction
between musicians to band together and forget the past. By joining
forces, we felt, we could pull together our wide range of influences
to create a sound better than anything we'd created before. All we
needed was a bassist.
Meet Eddy.
Eddy, who at the time of writing is still with R46 was more than happy
to pick up his four strings and jump in head first. Requiring a
different musical outlet after previous routes growing stale, he
brings an added dimension to the group.
Apart, we are three searching souls, seeking out others to listen to
our tunes.
Together, we're White Overalls.
New style hit the city.
